Between October 2006 and March 2010 the See a Voice project supported 27 venues across England and a touring theatre company, to programme and deliver good quality, in-house audio described and captioned performances.
A significant element of the support offered to theaters was to advise staff on marketing and audience development strategies, to build closer relationships with deaf, deafened, hard of hearing, blind and partially sighted audiences. This website has been created as part of the See a Voice project legacy, providing a practical resource for anyone who leads or contributes to building audiences for audio described and captioned performances.
